Supplier Relations & Stores Position

The Job:

We are looking for someone to be based near Boroughbridge that will be responsible for the Spare Parts and Stores.

This will involve finding suitable solutions for customers both in person and over the phone and being responsible for the selling, receiving and delivery of parts and accessories for all types of spraying equipment. 

We are looking for a great person who has an interest in Agriculture, knowledge of machines (sprayers) and can take ownership of the stores; providing solutions to our customers & taking responsibility for the stock. As we are a small business a 'get stuck in' attitude is necessary.


Main areas of responsibility:

Stores & Customer Service

  • Meeting and greeting customers coming into the Parts department and identifying the parts they need.
  • Providing assistance over the phone and/or via email
  • Unloading of supplier delivery vehicles and checking in deliveries into stock and onto the database whilst checking goods against batch listings Stock Purchasing & Control
  • Booking out parts to ensure that our engineers have the correct stock in their vans and working with them to ensure timely restocking as required.
  • Providing quotations and pricing as and when requested, and work with accounts to provide Invoices and take payment from clients
  • Organising the packaging and posting out of parts to clients
  • Managing parts stock and doing weekly stock takes
  • Deal with Customer Satisfaction issues relating to the product line
  • Assist with reorganising of stores as parts lines grow


Precision Farming

  • Become the main point person for Precision Farming equipment
  • Provides delivery, training, help and maintenance in the Sales and aftersales of Precision Farming Products as well as deliver training for software updates and manufacturer updates to sales staff and clients
  • Keeps up to date with all product releases, updates and technology related to precision farming equipment as well as the industry as a whole and attend all necessary training
  • Oversee and manage the introduction of new technology / products to customers as well as suggest new products on the market to our line of products.

Supplier Relations

  • Ordering parts and building & maintaining supplier relationships
  • Follow up on order shortages and communicate to accounts and manager via daily reports
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise display as well as keeping parts inventory clean, orderly and well organised.
  • Deal with Customer Satisfaction issues relating to the product line
  • Communicate changes to line items to engineers and provide feedback to suppliers

Marketing Assistance

  • Working with the marketing manager to get items onto the website during downtime and updating line items where necessary as well as necessary Information on Facebook
  • 'How To' Videos


Health & Safety

  • Ensure good practice is followed and be point person



  • Basic engineering jobs on site to aid in the sale of parts. e.g. Pumps
  • Assist with second hand sprayers coming in for resale
  • Occasionally assist engineers



    • Good computer skills; we use IBCOS to manage stock in conjunction with excel - training will be given but knowledge of systems is useful
    • Microsoft Office in particular Excel using VLOOKUP and good spreadsheet maintenance.
    • Previous parts experience within a similar industry is a plus but not a necessity although an interest the sector and previous parts management experience is a necessity,
    • We require someone with Basic Engineering knowledge.
    • Awareness of Health & Safety procedures
    • An interest in agriculture, horticulture & Industry. - We are a specialist business and you would need to be willing and interested to further your knowledge.
    • Preferably no further away than 20 minutes from base.
    • Full driving License (occasionally parts deliveries are necessary)
